We are looking for a Lead Engineer to coordinate day-to-day operations and provide excellent customer service to our wholesale customers. They will play a key role in supporting growth, development, and profitability within the engineering department while managing and mentoring our Technical Support Representative.

Role Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Install machinery and ensure customers are satisfied and confident with their machinery
  • Ensure all scheduled servicing is up to date by planning and completing preventative maintenance on espresso machines, grinders, and water filtration systems.
  • Ensure all breakdowns and callouts are attended promptly.
  • Keep regular customer contact, support and site visits to build customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Record all site visits, customer interactions and engineering work via job sheets and through our CRM.
  • Manage the Technical Support Representative and support their development
  • Ensure monthly hardware and machinery stocktakes are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure that ordering and stock reconciliation are accurate and up to date.
  • Contribute to the engineering department’s strategies to drive growth and profitability while upholding the company’s highest standards of excellence.
  • Collaborate with the wider Wholesale department to drive sales and nurture customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with our Trainer to deliver technical training sessions to our wholesale customers.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy engineering workshop
  • Maintain our on-site machinery
  • Keep up to date with the latest in coffee machinery and technology
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and procedures

Required Key Skills:

  • Engineering experience relevant to the coffee industry and related machinery
  • Excellent technical knowledge of coffee-related machinery
  • Experience working as a barista or understanding how to dial in espresso and operate various coffee machines
  • Confident in IT and computer knowledge
  • Excellent customer service and communication
  • Good teamwork and organisation
  • A meticulous and detailed approach to all aspects of the role
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas
  • An understanding of the machine sales process, along with prior sales experience (Ideal)
  • Proof of the right to work in the UK
  • A full, clean driving licence

Other Information:

This position is mainly worked between Monday and Friday; evening and weekend work will occasionally be required.
