About the role

Our Head Barista will lead by example, inspire, support team development, help shape daily operations, and seamlessly fit in with our environment of positivity and improvement. You will bring experience, warmth, and consistency across everything.

This role is available at 40hrs p/w and we’re open to flexible working arrangements to accommodate your lifestyle; weekend availability is required.

We’re looking for

• Solid experience working as a barista in a specialty coffee environment.

• Thriving under pressure, handling multiple tasks while keeping a keen eye on detail.

• Outstanding communication and customer service skills to nurture warm, positive customer experiences.

• Confident leadership with a talent for motivating and uplifting the team.

• A strong focus on cleanliness, organisation, and maintaining a polished, welcoming space.

• A true enthusiasm for specialty coffee and a desire to be part of a vibrant, community-focused setting.

• Desire to grow with us as a new business and contribute to our future as a company.

Responsibilities include

• Embracing the positive energy we foster at Hisashi.

• Teaching our customers about specialty coffee and our menu.

• Making high quality drinks and setting the standard for the team.

• Setting the standard for cleanliness, hygiene, and quality of service.

• Overseeing daily operations and ensuring a smooth day to day running.

• Working with managers to suggest improvements and making changes where needed.

• Mentoring, supporting, and training baristas across all levels, and providing ongoing training.

• Launching initiatives, and contributing to event planning within the store.

• Being a people person and focusing on team skills development and product knowledge.

• Maintaining all equipment, including but not limited to, our La Marzocco Linea PB, Mahlkonig E80, and EK43.

• Tracking inventory, keeping stock well organised, and working closely with management to keep improving inventory and operational systems.
