Redemption Roasters is a speciality coffee company with a difference. We are the U.K’s first prison-based coffee company. At our roastery in Aylesbury Prison, and at nine behind-bars coffee academies, we train offenders in specialty coffee skills with the aim of reducing reoffending in the UK. We roast for over 150 wholesale clients and operate 5 London coffee shops.

We are excited to announce that during the course of January 2020, we will be opening a second roastery:

  • inside a prison just 30 minutes from central London
  • housed in an enormous 800 sq/m industrial unit
  • equipped with a Loring S70 and top-class associated kit
  • collaborating with a forward-thinking education department at the prison committed to outcomes for offenders

At this very exciting time for the company, we are recruiting a Wholesale Director to help us launch ‘Redemption 2.0’ and grow the wholesale business segment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a strong track record of growing the wholesale business channel in coffee or other another F&B industry
  • demonstrable history of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • the ability to manage, motivate and coach the wholesale team
  • existing relationships with key potential accounts
  • excellent inter-personal, leadership, presentation and negotiation skills
  • an analytical and numbers-driven approach with a real appreciation for the bottom line

The job description is as follows:

  • overall responsibility for the company’s wholesale business channel and managing the wholesale team
  • setting and achieving KPIs
  • develop and implement new sales initiatives
  • seek out new business then build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • understand and analyse sales data for wholesale accounts on a monthly basis, reviewing performance against sales targets with management, analysing results and relaying key information to the team
  • delegating acquisition and account management duties to appropriate team members
  • overall responsibility for managed wholesale client accounts with a focus on the largest accounts
  • provide a first port of call for managed accounts, delivering exceptional customer service and resolving issues promptly and effectively
  • selection of machinery manufacturer partners
  • collaborating closely with the Head Roaster / Head of Coffee to curate a range of coffees
  • coordinate and represent the company at trade events
