We’re Nelson Coffee Roasters in Eastbourne (by the sea!) and we’re on the lookout for an experienced coffee roaster to join our growing business.
We are a small roastery with big ambitions, that’s committed to sourcing and roasting excellent coffee every time. We only work with coffee importers who share our passion for high grade coffee that is sourced in a fair and sustainable way. As we are a young Company, this role is a great opportunity for someone to get stuck in and help shape its future.
Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:
Selecting and purchasing green coffee that meet’s the company’s quality standards
Roasting coffee to a very high standard on our Giesen W6A drum roaster (inc. creating new profiles, cupping and QC)
Green bean and packaging stock management
Managing wholesale orders
Packing roasted coffee with support from others (this role will eventually be delegated)
Record keeping and data entry
General roastery cleaning and maintenance of roasting equipment
Receiving green coffee deliveries
Supporting the director in liaising with prospective new wholesale clients
Be an active participant in the coffee community
Hands on and enthusiastic
Requirements:
Experienced production roaster
Understanding of drum roaster operation, Cropster and basic maintenance
Able to create roasting profiles and maintain flavour consistency
Cupping and QC experience
Excellent coffee knowledge
Desirable:
SCA qualifications or similar
Certified Q Grader
The successful candidate will receive:
