About Qima Coffee: Set up in the midst of Yemen’s raging civil war, Qima Coffee was first established to serve Yemen’s coffee farmers and has grown to become Yemen’s largest specialty coffee exporter, and one of the country’s most impactful social enterprises. After achieving significant impact and scale in Yemen, in 2020, Qima Coffee announced the establishment of coffee sourcing operations in Colombia as it evolved from being a single origin exporter, to a multi-origin coffee sourcing business with equitability at its core.

With coffee sourcing operations in Yemen and Colombia, and marketing and distributions offices in London, Beijing, Seoul, Dubai and Jeddah, Qima Coffee was set up with the aim of sourcing and trading coffee as a vehicle for livelihood improvement and generation for smallholder coffee farmers worldwide. We believe that better coffee can indeed offer better lives.

Established in 2016, Qima Coffee has grown its farmer supply portfolio in Yemen and Colombia to exceed 2,600 farming families, representing an equivalent of ~20,000 people from the rural community. Working directly with smallholder farmers, the company operates with full traceability and transparency, with every lot traceable back to the farmer who grew it. With deep expertise in agronomy, coffee processing, genetics, and marketing and distribution, Qima has undergone exponential growth over the past few years and has come to be recognised as one of the world’s leading equitable coffee sourcing businesses, operating throughout the value chain – from seed to cup.

The Role With our global Business Development activities growing, we are seeking to bring on an experienced and passionate coffee sales professional to lead on Qima´s global sales effort and manage the team of BD representatives worldwide. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the global business development activities representing a client base across almost 40 countries.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and supervising the Business Development team in the various international sales offices.
  • Developing tailored sales plans for green coffee products through different channels and across all geographies and overseeing the BD team to implement the sales plans.
  • Managing the sales pipeline using a designated CRM software and closely tracking the performance of the global sales team.

  • The generation of high-ticket opportunities from cold all the way through to close.
  • The ability to articulate high ticket propositions directly to CEOs and decision makers, leading a full end-to-end narrative that is centered around quality and equitability.

  • Liaising with the marketing and communication team to develop and implement a holistic marketing promotion strategy.
  • Frequent travel to trade shows and conferences to act as a brand ambassador and grow Qima’s network of friends, supporters and partners worldwide.

You will be reporting to the CEO. The role will be based in Central London.

You are passionate about specialty coffee and are passionate about the role of coffee in improving lives and livelihoods. Previous sales and BD experience of high-end green specialty coffee is a must management experience is highly preferred.
