Nickel Support is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Manager to lead our lovely Beans and Bloom Coffee Shop located within the Whitehall Museum in Cheam, London Borough of Sutton (SM3 8QD).
This isn’t just your average coffee shop role. At Beans and Bloom, you’ll be at the heart of our social enterprise, providing invaluable employability training opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You’ll lead a dedicated team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the cafe while championing an inclusive and supportive environment for our trainees to learn and grow.

About Beans and Bloom:
Beans and Bloom is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a vibrant and welcoming space where delicious coffee meets meaningful impact. As the Manager, you’ll be instrumental in creating a positive experience for both our customers and our trainees.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and inspiring the Beans and Bloom team to deliver excellent customer service and support the trainee development programme.
- Playing a pivotal role in the Trainee Development Programme, supporting trainees’ individual needs and development while balancing coffee shop operations.
- Managing all aspects of coffee shop performance, including targets, sales, wastage, and reporting.
- Developing and implementing a new brunch and lunch menu, menu planning, costing and sourcing of products. Preparing the kitchen and staff in readiness to launch.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve the quality of our offerings, increase footfall, and drive revenue in collaboration with the Business Development Manager.
- Creating efficient team rotas and managing team-related queries (work hours, leave, breaks, etc.).
- Organising and leading monthly team meetings.
- Managing supplier relationships, ensuring efficient procurement and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintaining accurate stock levels and conducting monthly stock takes.
- Ensuring clear and proactive communication with the wider Nickel Support team.
- Upholding Nickel Support’s values and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Maintaining a welcoming and pleasant cafe environment.
- Addressing customer feedback professionally and escalating issues when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety and food safety regulations, including delivering relevant training.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in coffee shop management or a similar hospitality leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team organisation skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm and empathetic approach.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with strong decision-making abilities.
- Experience in managing budgets, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Experience in developing and costing a menu
- A good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- A genuine passion for creating a positive customer experience.
- An understanding of and commitment to inclusive working practices (experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism is desirable but not essential – a willingness to learn and embrace our values is key).
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.

- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (09.00am - 17.30pm, Tuesday - Saturday)
