Fair Shot Cafe is a unique cafe with a conscience that will bring training and future employment to disabled young adults in the setting of a stylish high-end coffee shop. Our flagship store will work with 15 young people at a time, giving them a chance to acquire invaluable skills needed to work in a hospitality environment, enabling them to move onto employment elsewhere. Our trainees with Autism and Down Syndrome, aged 16 to 25, will receive training in barista skills, hospitality and food preparation via a Traineeship Programme supported by West London College, Action on Disability, and Artisan Coffee School. We ultimately want to remove barriers that prevent people with learning disabilities from working, as there's currently a 93% unemployment rate for disabled people, and advocate for competitive and integrated employment.
