A Quest for Perfect Coffee Brooklyn Diamond Coffee was founded in May 2013. Founder Lottie Terzi was 21 at the time, she had a background in advertising and PR, but most importantly, an innate love for coffee. Brought up in a family where Turkish Coffee was a prized possession, the art of coffee was instilled from a young age. It all started when Lottie decided that she would no longer stand for a watery cup of iced coffee with a bitter taste. Having searched all over Manhattan and unable to find the perfect cup of iced coffee, she decided to create her own blend. Immediately, Lottie went to work seeking out a diverse array of coffee beans that would help to create this perfect cup of coffee. After many taste tests, Brooklyn Diamond Coffee was a born! A cup of her special coffee became what she most looked forward to each day. Excited, she decided to share the cold brew concentrate with friends. Finally! The blindfolds could be put to rest; she was convinced that this cold brew coffee was better than anything she had ever tasted.

It Begins

In the spring of 2013, door-to-door deliveries of cold brew coffee took off. In the summer of 2013, just two months after the company was created, Brooklyn Diamond was asked to open a summer pop up in the South Street Seaport. Here, store neighbors included specialty food shops such as Pinkberry and Magnolia Bakeshop. That summer proceeds were donated to victims of Hurricane Sandy. By the Fall of 2013, bottled Brooklyn Diamond Cold Brew hit the shelves of local grocery stores and health food markets throughout the tri-state area. After seeing the unlimited possibilities a retail store had to offer, Lottie decided it was time for a permanent location. A place where the name Brooklyn Diamond would not just be synonymous to coffee, rather it would represent something greater; a lifestyle. And what better place then Brooklyn? Within just a few short months, Brooklyn Diamond Coffee unveiled it's first cafe in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Growth Over the next year Brooklyn Diamond Coffee evolved into a diverse array of cafes. Our cafes service customers directly by offering not only cold brew, but also, hand-crafted hot coffee, espresso based drinks, loose leaf tea, and vegan pastries.  We've since opened two cafes, a summer pop up store on the Jersey Shore, and an extremely diverse bottled cold brew coffee wholesale business. What's Next In 2015, Brooklyn Diamond Coffee will be re-introduced to Manhattan. Our new storefront in Mid-Town will become the next step in bringing Lottie's creation to the people of New York, and visitors from all over the world. Located near the United Nations, Brooklyn Diamond now seeks to enter the greater world community and bring strong, flavorful, healthy coldbrew to the world!
