Part time with opportunity for full time depending on roastery sales and your performance.

Profile: an engaging, self-motivated, proactive, productive, and enthusiastic individual, with an eye for details and a recognition of how every large system is composed of smaller parts. They should possess at least a basic understanding of coffee and have the passion and commitment to grow this knowledgebase as much as possible, always eager to assimilate new tasks and responsibilities as they grow into their future role.

Please note that you should be able to lift 20kg and that the role requires you to be on your feet for 8hrs a day.

  • Operate at the highest standard by possessing an attention to detail which allows for the consistent creation of a high-quality product and service.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of our ethos, and product range, being able to communicate this with customers, and throughout the business.
  • Take responsibility and apply knowledge/skillsets in the following key areas:
    • DISPATCH: the daily dispatch and packing of orders
    • ROASTING: preparation of daily roasting operations, including, but not limited to, planning, and weighing out and green coffee
    • Q.C.: assisting in the set up and clearing of production cuppings
    • STOCK: storing and managing of roasted coffee and packaging
    • GENERAL: maintenance of equipment and workspace, i.e. roaster, grinders, stocktake, organisation of workflow, and the Q.C lab

  • Support the roastery team by ensuring a clean, safe, fun and organised environment at all times.

  • Contribute to the expansionary mechanics and growth of the roastery in the following areas by:
    • learning the basics of coffee roasting, and how we achieve the quality we do.
    • understanding the general approach and philosophy we apply to our coffee and our products.
    • facilitating the expansion of the business via wholesale opportunities
  • Show initiative, identifying both issues and opportunities alike, pitching ideas and solutions.
  • Demonstrate an interest in furthering a career in sensory, roasting, or green, by continuing to further your knowledge both inside and outside of work.
