We have been making awesome coffee at our little shop in Haggerston for 7 years! we have a wonderful community of regulars and a friendly team. The cafe joins onto our photography studios and has a general creative vibe around, serving the creatives of Haggerston.

We need a diligent PT / weekend barista ideally with wine experience ( or at least an interest ) The shop is both a coffee and wine shop. Ideally you will have some good admin skills for daily cafe systems ad should live local to Haggerston, Hackney, Shoreditch or less than 30 min commute. There maybe some days lone working so should be comfortable with working independently.

Be polite and friendly to our great customers Be able to make high quality coffee Be able to dial in a coffee machine and weigh shots correctly Be able to clean grinders Above all else we need someone that is on time, puntunctual and reliable

Both directors still practice their creative passions along side the day to day running of SHED.

SHED Directors and Operational team have worked very hard to create the relevant systems to run a successful cafe. It’s the coffee shop baristas main responsibility to ensure that these are followed to the finest detail. This includes barista work such as helping with staff rotas and organisation, Staff motivation, training and discipline, as well as working alongside the team as a Barista/ Salesman.

SHEDs ultimate goal is to provide the best curated product and experience to every customer who comes through the door, our baristas are an extension of SHEDs directors vision and are therefore responsible for making this happen.

A strong understanding of the coffee product that we are selling, this includes all aspects from the coffee beans themselves to the different milks used to mix. Confident at dialing in the coffee machine to a specific recipe. Ability to train others to do the same. Motivate staff to execute an exceptional level of service leading to a direct increase in loyal, repeat customers. Provide training to employees using the SHED Handbook and monitor their work in relation to Job Specification. Successful employees will start a short probation period as part of the employment process.
