We will give you the platform to take your love of coffee and do great things!

We are a specialist coffee shop and grocery store occupying a large historical landmark corner building on a very busy street in Highgate, north London. We place equal importance on coffee and groceries and as an essential business our coffee trading will remain unaffected by Government restrictions.

We are very busy and require a Head Barista & Head of Coffee who is cool under pressure and able to put out incredible coffee at speed. We currently serve 220-280 hot drinks per day between 8am and 4pm and are now expanding our service to 8am-6pm Mon-Sat and 9am-6pm Sunday. We expect to grow our service to 500 daily beverages in 2021.

We are looking for someone to come in and take full ownership of our drinks service. As Head of Coffee you will choose guest blends, be able to tune, maintain and clean all equipment, place retail and service orders and help build and train our coffee team to make amazing coffee!

We are looking for ambitious coffee professionals who are interested in being Head of Coffee of a multi-site specialty coffee chain and responsible for our white label roasting. We are also open to applicants more suited to Head Barista who we think have the potential to progress into a Head of Coffee role this year.

Our roaster is Ozone. We use Estate Dairy & Minor Figures. The espresso Machine is a new Marzocco Linea PB 3 Group. The grinder is a new VA Mythos.

You must have at least 2-3 years experience. Wage is negotiable based on expertise with bonus scheme and staff grocery discounts. Everyone who works for us is on the London Living Wage and LLW at 45 hours per week will be the base pay for this position. We are open to reviewing the hourly rate of pay and bonus incentives for the right candidate.

We have big plans for expansion so this is a great opportunity to get your foot in at grass roots.

We welcome all nationalities as long as you are able to speak decent English.

Feel free to get in touch with James at jc@thegrocerypost.com with any questions.

Please send an original covering letter in support of your application - with 50-100 words on your favourite roastery and 50-100 words on your ambition in coffee. Coffee is the cornerstone of our business and we will give the right candidate the platform for a hugely successful career in coffee.

Our website is currently under construction as we launch our local grocery delivery business - so check out our instagram at @thegrocerypost for more information on who we are.
