As a Head Barista, you have a genuine passion for and appreciation of good coffee, alongside experience of working in speciality coffee and hospitality. An instrumental part of the Leadership Team, the Head Barista also enjoys building relationships with both staff and guests, fostering a positive and friendly store environment.

You will work closely alongside the Head Baker, Head Chef and General Manager to shape the direction of the store. Focusing on Coffee but also other non-alcoholic beverages and general FoH operations.

On top of the general day to day duties and tasks involved in a coffee shop as a shift leader or general team member, you will be given extra time off the floor to take lead on the following:

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Coffee and non-alcoholic recipe rotation, creation and QC
  • Providing coffee training (Intro to Coffee and Barista Skills)
  • FoH equipment management (cleaning and maintenance)
  • Take part in the weekly Leadership Meeting (Heads & GM)
  • Input for any updating of the SOP
  • Inventory Control for Coffee and FoH Supplies
    • Ordering of Coffee and FoH Supplies
    • Updating of Stock and Display Min/Par Levels
    • Supplier and Product Management


To help and support you in your role and responsibilities, on top of our own in house training we provide:

  • Membership to Speciality Coffee Association (SCA)
    • SCA training through to Authorized SCA Trainer (AST)
    • SCA Introduction to Coffee Course
    • SCA Barista Skills Intermediate Course
    • SCA Barista Skills Professional Course
    • AST - Authorized SCA Trainer for Barista Skills (Certified for 3 years)
  • Tea Training from our sister company Primrose Hill Teas
  • Level 2 Hygiene Certificate


£24,000 pa plus tips and a bonus scheme (averaging £1,300 per year)

You don’t need to be an award-winning barista, although that would help, you do need to be a genuinely nice person.
