JOB ROLE: Grind Maintenance Technician

REPORT TO: Head of Maintenance & External Coffee Operations

RESPONSIBLE FOR: All internal and external coffee machine, grinder and brewer maintenance

DEPARTMENT: Grind Coffee Roasters Ltd.

HOURS: Tuesdays - Saturdays, Sundays - Thursdays

Grind Coffee Roasters Ltd. is the roasting branch that supplies all the coffee for the Grind & Co cafes and restaurants, as well as some major wholesale accounts

This role will be based out of our Roastery located in Elephant & Castle. Since opening the Roastery in early 2019, the space has evolved and now houses 2 roasters, a tinning line, and cupping space, with many more exciting things to come. Grind is now looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our existing Maintenance team.


A highly organized and experienced customer-focused Coffee Machinery Technician. Precision and comprehensive customer care are integral to this role, as well as the ability to creatively problem-solve and provide a high level of service. Working closely with the Head of Maintenance to schedule & perform installations in Grind sites and with wholesale partners Perform pre-planned preventative maintenance services in Grind sites and with wholesale partners Attend break-down and repair call outs in Grind sites and with wholesale partners Maintaining and repairing espresso machines, grinders, and water filtration equipment in Grind sites and with wholesale partners Ensuring customer satisfaction and positive relationships with Wholesale partners Working with the Head of Maintenance to train wholesale customers on equipment maintenance and help create informative materials for our customers in the UK and overseas Fulfilling wholesale customer parts orders Managing and maintaining the stock of spare parts and tools in the roastery workshop Keeping up to date with the latest in coffee machinery and technology Requirements:

Technical/Engineering experience relevant to the coffee industry and related machinery Must be a La Marzocco certified technician Excellent technical knowledge Confident IT and computer skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Good teamwork and organization skills Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas Proof of the right to work in the UK Full and clean UK Driving license


Extensive barista training will be given to the successful candidate, so whilst experience is desirable, it is not essential Extensive experience with La Marzocco, Victoria Arduino, Fetco and Bunn equipment Flexible work hours, this is a Monday to Friday role including early mornings when needed, with a rotated on-call weekend.
