Here at Kofra, a high-end specialty Coffee Roaster & Brewer, we have the pleasure of hiring a General Manager. This is a unique, demanding position that will be highly rewarding for the right individual.

We pride ourselves in our attitude to be best in class, whether it’s our forward-thinking roasting, creative brewing, delivery of an unparalleled customer experience, our designer facilities or our chosen brand partners, we strive to be the best we can and deliver something consistently special. This will be reflected on to and by you, the General Manager.

Have no doubt this will be a challenging job but equally rewarding. As part of our business ethos you will need to start as a barista during a handover period, learning the business from the ground up and stepping into the GM role when ready. You will maintain daily barista duties while having GM responsibilities, this is not a desk job, or for someone looking to get away from the bar.

Managerial duties including but not limited to;

  • Overseeing three sites, seven staff and a whole lot of stock
  • Managing staff rotas, training and team communication
  • Encouraging staff development, leading by example coming to the table with your own relevant research
  • Being a brand ambassador and establishing yourself as part of the local community
  • Integrating yourself into the Kofra family, no doubt this will be the easy part as we’re a very friendly bunch

Non-Managerial responsibilities including but not limited to;

  • Delivering a fantastic experience to every customer
  • Opening and closing your personal store where you will be the main barista
  • Dialling in the coffee for the day, curating recipes, working with temperature profiling
  • Bagging coffee
  • Daily cleaning duties to an exceedingly high standard, while making sure these standards are met at all three locations, that’s right we snuck a managerial duty in there
  • Having a willingness to take part in a range of external events
  • Building your knowledge of our natural wines and dry aged meat

Under our employment, staff have travelled to global exhibitions representing our very special brand, attended a wide range of events and all grown with the business.

Specialty coffee experience is a must for this role, that said if you don’t have any and you think you are a great manager with the organisational skills and mentality to be fantastic, apply anyway, why not.

In an ideal world you will have experience maintaining specialist brewing equipment, that said we are more focussed on your attitude and personality, so a keen willingness to learn will go a long way.

We can’t promise to respond to everyone, but we will call everyone with an application that fits our criteria. With this in mind please make sure your current mobile number is on your CV
