Coffee and Events Manager wanted to run and grow a young mobile business.

Min. 25 hours a week (2-3 days)

Salary: £12-15 per hour plus great benefits

Location: SE-London-based, with a view to take the van anywhere in the UK

Full UK driving licence required

Browns of Brockley is a speciality coffee shop, trading for 10 years in South East London. We want to take our enthusiasm for great service and great coffee on the road – which is why we created a mobile coffee vehicle like no other. Already trading at some of London’s busiest farmers markets.

We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual who can do the following:

-Mobilise our Van or Trailer for events

-Either have a background in, or be interested in learning about Speciality Coffee

-Have experience in giving great customer service whether in Hospitality or Events

-Staffing: Recruitment, retention, training and rotation of staff, ensuring we are always prepared despite some staffing requirements being unpredictable

-Health & Safety: Ensuring guidelines are adhered to

-Stock control: Planning of deliveries and ordering

-Finances: Cash management plan and ensure it is adhered to

Our ideal candidate will:

-Have a full UK driving license

-Have excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate with staff at all levels

-Have the highest hygiene standards

-Have experience of cost control and minimising waste

-Have a passion for good food and drink

-Be able to work most weekends of the year

-Be logistically strong, organising events from beginning to end

We offer great pay and benefits; in addition to the per-hour salary we are willing to offer a profit share to the right individual after a period of time.

This is the ideal role for someone who:

-Wants to train and learn; whether that be driving a van, making coffee, developing management or more

-Is interested in working within the growing Speciality Coffee industry

-Wants to help develop a new business and get great experience and understanding what it’s like running a small business (with support from owners)

-Would like some freedom of helping choose the direction of this fledgling business

-Has experience of activating coffee/food events, from inception to delivery

-Is always positive, with an attitude for problem-solving and seeking a role that allows for a real sense of ownership and responsibility

-Has a strategic mind with ability / experience of business planning and good business sense

-Displays a management style that gets the most out of people, and fosters staff retention

-Some experience or understanding of the world of outdoor events and markets
