We’re lucky enough to work with the most innovative, exciting and passionate entrepreneurs in the UK, and we’re on the hunt for an entrepreneurial, fun-loving Cafe & Community Hero to run “Ground Control”, our coffee bar & community hub at the heart of our London Bridge site.
We are looking for someone with unquestionable customer service, who is passionate, sociable and organised. Someone who will take end-to-end control of running a fantastic cafe offering for our amazing members.
The Job: The Nitty Gritty

You’ll be running the day-to-day operations of “Ground Control”, the cafe in our London Bridge site.
What You’ll Be Doing
Managing The Cafe and Optimising Profit
Whilst receiving guidance from the General Manager, the successful operation of the Café will depend to a large extent on your imagination, initiative and energy. A combination of flexibility, enthusiasm, innovation, and sound organisational skills is essential.
The whole operation must present a friendly and welcoming environment in which our members can feel comfortable, enjoying excellent service and fulfilling our ‘Community First’ value. You’ll welcome members and guests with high quality customer care and community ethos.
Running The Show
You will develop and execute an all encompassing cafe strategy, from design and menu choices to communication and engagement, with oversight from the General Manager, you’ll run the show.
You’ll develop and manage relationships with members, suppliers and be responsible for training and organise cover staff. You will manage all aspects of the daily running of the café including menu and food preparation, restocking, ordering and delivery of goods.
You will work with budgets and will be responsible for maintenance of appropriate records providing these to the Finance Department as necessary. You will ensure operations are fully compliant with current regulations relating to Health and Safety at Work, Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations, Fire Fighting equipment and precautions and restrictions on the sale of Alcohol.
You will also be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffees, the running, cleaning and maintenance of brewing equipment, reporting any issues and maintain a clean and sanitized workstation.
You will also work with the Community Teams and providing support and carrying out any further reasonable tasks as identified by the General Manager.
Who You Are
Experience in hospitality You will have experience of coffee/food preparation and/or service, or working in a café, bar, restaurant or other hospitality environment. Previous Barista or hands-on experience with coffee machines & equipment is desirable but not essential.
A Social Juggernaut This job is all about client facing, so we need someone who loves dealing with people from all walks of life. You’ll be friendly, warm, clear and confident.
Organisation-savvy You’ll be able to run the cafe independently, managing the stock, incoming revenue and the general day to day operations. Reporting on weekly and monthly sales.
A Strategy Champion We’re not interested in treading water. We want everything tomorrow to be better than it was today. You’ll constantly be evaluating what we do and tweaking the plan so that it’s better tomorrow.

£22,000 per annum
