We are The Fields Beneath in Kentish Town, a small coffee shop with a big heart. A tight knit team runs the show here and everyone does a bit of everything, so we want you to be able to:

  • Walk in on your trial and knock out a perfect flat white with your eyes closed
  • Be competent and caring with food prep - basic kitchen jobs will be part of your job, including making sauces to a recipe and assembling sandwiches/wraps.
  • Bowl over customers with charm, politeness and queue management
  • Show an interest in plants and wine, as we’ve just started selling those both and it’s a big opportunity for us to increase sales and want a team effort to sell as much as we can

A few things about us: - we are 100% vegan, so lead with Minor Figures in the milky drinks and have amazing plant based pastries, cakes and sandwiches too. - our coffee is our own, a Costa Rican washed. We use scales for wet and dry. - Coffee equipment is a vintage Linea and Mythos combo, with a BUNN batch brewer. - Did we say we’re vegan?

We’re in the heart of the Kentish Town community, and under an overground rail station. We get rushes throughout the day and currently our rota has us working alone for most our shifts with a little overlap. You’ll have to be able to hit the ground running but we will give you up to 2 weeks shadowing before letting you loose on the shop alone if needed.

Once things get back to ‘normal’ we’ll be working as a team together during shifts, but all the above will still apply. We want people who just ‘get’ hospitality, understand the importance of quality and put extra care into everything they do.

Let us know a little about yourself in the cover letter and relevant work experience, and we’ll reply to book you into a trial if you seem like a good fit.
