The Association has two stores located in the City, at EC3 and EC4. We make espresso and filter coffee and provide a small menu of baked goods from East London’s local bakeries. Coffee is from Square Mile and guest roasters.
We opened 7 years ago and have a reputation as one of London’s leading coffee makers. As a café operator we aim to be different in two simple ways:
we are specialised. We don’t make salads or soups or serve wine in the evening. We are coffee specialist and pride ourselves on being good at it. We believe that focussing is the way to be better, and
we create stores that are engaging, that look and feel unique and great spaces to work in.
We are currently looking to add 1 full-time or 2 part-time floor staff members to the team (min 2 days a week if part-time).
The position revolves around serving customers and maintaining the store in good working order. You will learn to make filter coffee and to understand the basics of the coffee we serve. An overview of the role includes:
Serving customers – taking orders (sit in and takeaway) and running coffees to table.
Making some hot drinks – filter coffee and tea (training will be provided).
Serving food – mostly cakes and pastries.
Maintaining an organised and well-presented bar and cafe.
Experience is not essential. More important is a positive attitude, attention to detail and a genuine desire to provide a great customer experience. The position is ideally suited to someone looking to build experience in a high temp, coffee focussed café with high standards.
Both shops are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5pm, but closed on weekends. If interested please send a copy of your CV to email@example.com, with a brief covering letter outlining your experience and interest in the role.
8-week FREE training, accreditation, part-time paid work placement and a guaranteed job as a barista.
You can apply if you are:
• Over 18
• Not in training
• Not in eductation
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Actively looking for work
