A trip to the Bahamas, a designer wardrobe and superpowers? Well, we can’t quite manage that. But we have got a great role for a General Manager for one of the best known, best loved speciality coffee shops in London Attendant Fitzrovia.

Put your cape back in the drawer. We’ll get you a real role. This is a General Manager role that isn’t going to be for everyone.

The role is aimed at a General Manager who is growing tired of thankless corporate contingency and all of the daily tick box exercises and the paperwork that goes with it. It’s for Managers who know that there is a lot more to running a speciality coffee shop business than just running shifts. It’s for Managers who want the term “my guests” to actually mean something. Perhaps most importantly it’s for Managers in companies who don’t want to lose the fire in their belly.

We are looking for a manager with a real sense of URGENCY. We want a team player who will fit in with our ethos on quality, hospitality and customer service. We seek someone who is fast, efficient, consistent and clean. Someone who is particular but still able to serve customers, prepare food/coffee quickly and most importantly build a relationship with our new and current customers.


  • Probationary Period: 6 months
  • Pay Review: Every 12 months
  • Full time Hours: 40 - 45 hours a week over 4 -5 shifts per week + occasional evening events
  • Cafe core opening hours: Mon – Fri 8.00am – 6.00pm, Saturday 9.00am – 6.00pm, Sunday 9.00am – 6.00pm
  • Holiday Entitlement: 28 days holiday including bank holidays

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To set and maintain, the highest standards of customer service in the cafe.
  • To provide cover with the other staff as required on a daily basis.
  • To develop a motivated and high performing team committed to delivering clear goals and objectives.
  • To manage the team, and to be responsible for the presentation of the food and beverages offered for sale
  • The completion of admin duties
  • To be responsible for the regular monitoring and control of stocks and wastage
  • To be responsible for all food, beverage ordering to the site.
  • To ensure good timekeeping and performance by staff.
  • To assist the senior management team maintaining the standards of hygiene and health and safety at all times.

We are a small tight knit team so only fun loving, hard working and all round cool cats need apply (an awesome sense of humour isn’t a must, but will definitely help because you need to be able to laugh at our jokes).

Starting salary £22,000 + service charge (circa £26-30k dependant on performance)
